The Intent of this book is to present a complete course in Internal Combustion Engines for undergraduate students as well as for practising engineers. Its scope is limited to material that can reasonably be mastered by those who have studied fundamental thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and mechanics of machines. In order to place more emphasis on practical applications, all unnecessary description, historical backgrounds etc. have been eliminated.
